I was ice fishing in a lake and pond for panfish in New York during winter (mid March, 2015). I was using a jig and swedish pimple tipped with mousies. I was jigging them slowly. I drilled all the holes with a hand auger and didn’t have a tent, flasher, or any other electronics to find the fish — I just experimented and tried to use my knowledge of the contours in the water bodies. I ended up catching some black crappie, a pumpkinseed sunfish, and a bass.
